If it is accessible and available, I highly suggest going somewhere as far away from work as you can. Really spending time with yourself in a new place. Giving yourself permission to be in a new city, town, tiny house, etc. You learn so much about yourself that it shocks you.
You’ll have compassion towards yourself and for others who helped you along the way. Wherever that destination takes you, it will guide you along the way. Literally and figuratively.
On this respite, I wished I had more days and nights to spend where I was. Even though time is a human construct, it went by way too fast. Getting faster with each day, week, month, and year that passes by.
Stepping outside of your comfort zone is uncomfortable. It is also a way to foster renewal and growth. And when somebody sees that to and from the self, there is no thing and no one that can stop you. Especially those who attempt to try, they cannot.
Stepping out of the comfort zone bears courage, vulnerability, and resilience. Can it be anxiety filled? Hell yeah it can! You learn so much when you let go of old narratives. Taking the old ones out in order to write and create new ones.
This is the first time I have written/typed my words out in a very long time. They usually go along with a photo or pointed from another social media link.
I learned to be the person I am truly meant to be. No titles. No letters behind my name. No labels. And no BS from people who attempt to make life fit them. To which, in turn, makes them look and act like a complete asshole. The word tenacity comes to mind.
To those who helped this NYC trip beam with magic and insight, with sincerity, thank you. Answering questions. Giving me guidance on what to do and see in a short span of time. Giving the best ways to navigate the city and other landmarks.
There’s a strong yearning to go back again. Gratitude that fills up and overflows. This will not be a one-off trip. There are many more journeys to come.
